Where we started, and where we're going
Christ Global Youth didn't begin with a strategic plan. It began with a small group of young believers in Hamburg, Germany, wanting more than a once-a-week meeting; they wanted a community that took their faith and their future seriously.
How It Started
In 2020, Dr. Caroline Ajonina Buzie, a parasitologist, educator, and youth mentor, started gathering young people for regular Bible study. What began as informal weekend sessions, held online out of necessity, quickly became something young people looked forward to every week. There was no building, no budget, no big launch. Just Scripture, honest conversation, and a growing group of young people showing up.
From a Weekly Call to a Global Community
The weekly rhythm never stopped, and neither did the growth. What started as a handful of people on a Zoom call has reached young believers across more than 15 countries, including Cameroon, Canada, Germany, the USA, and beyond. Christ Global Youth became a registered nonprofit organization, formalizing a mission that had already been happening organically: raising young people who are spiritually grounded and practically equipped.
Building Rhythm, Not Just Reach
As the community grew, so did what we offered it. Weekly Bible study sessions were joined by seminars and workshops focused on leadership, skill-building, and innovation. We launched an Annual Conference to bring the global CGY community together in person and online. Today, we host the Online Youth Program and other events designed to do one thing: keep young people rooted in Christ for the long haul, not just for a moment.
Where We Are Today
Over 1000 young people have now been through CGY's programs, mentored, trained, and equipped to grow spiritually and professionally. We still meet every Saturday. We still believe the same thing we believed in 2020: that faith and fellowship don't need to share a zip code, and that a generation raised in the Word of God can go on to change the world around them.
