OUR HISTORY
Where we started, and where we're going
Founded in Hamburg in 2020, Christ Global Youth grew from Bible study gatherings into a youth development organization supporting learning, mentorship, and leadership. Christ remains our inspiration.
How It Started
In 2020, Dr. Caroline Ajonina Buzie, a parasitologist, educator, and youth mentor, started gathering young people for regular Bible study. What began as informal weekend sessions, held online out of necessity, quickly became something young people looked forward to every week. There was no building, no budget, no big launch. Just Scripture, honest conversation, and a growing group of young people showing up.
From a Weekly Call to a Global Community
Regular online gatherings connected young people across more than 15 countries, including Cameroon, Canada, Germany, and the USA. Becoming a registered nonprofit organization gave structure to a growing commitment to youth development, mentorship, and community.
Building Rhythm, Not Just Reach
As the community grew, weekly Bible study was joined by seminars and workshops on leadership, skills, and innovation. Our Annual Conference brought young people together in person and online. These programs connect our Christian foundation with practical opportunities for learning and development.
Where We Are Today
Over 1000 young people have taken part in CGY's programs, building skills, receiving mentorship, and growing personally and professionally. Our weekly gatherings continue alongside development programs that help young people prepare for their futures. Christ remains the inspiration behind our values and commitment to their growth.
